Biography:

Saruman, also known as Saruman the White, is a prominent character within J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. He first appears in The Fellowship of the Ring, published in 1954.

Saruman is an Istar (wizard), sent to Middle-earth by the Valar to aid the fight against Sauron. Initially the head of the White Council, he possessed great knowledge and was respected by other wizards like Gandalf.

He eventually fell from grace, succumbing to the lure of power and seeking the One Ring for himself. Corrupted by Sauron, he turned against the Free Peoples and established his own dominion in Isengard, creating a formidable army of Uruk-hai. His ambition ultimately led to his downfall.
